Historical Information

Before opening in the fall of 1991, students who would attend the "New School" were given the opportunity to select a name for the new site.  A list was suggested and voted on by future students.  After the vote, the "New School" officially became Sooner Elementary and the roadrunner was selected as the school mascot. Sooner

first opened its doors in August, 1991.  Since that time, we have continued to grow.
